Revolving-Door Politics at Work

President Bielinski is electioneering, sending a misleading PAC-funded mass mailer with a Village of Wilmette return address, endorsing his preferred slate of candidates to serve under him, leaving behind the independent candidates Jeff Axelrod, Joel Feinstein, and Gina Kennedy.

The Wilmette Justice Team does not support revolving-door politics.

Dear Friend, During our last local elections in Wilmette, organized political groups, including people from outside of Wilmette, actively campaigned in our Village. Letters, postcards and robocalls supporting candidates for local office were sent to residents. Because I am concerned about similar activities occurring again this year, I feel it necessary to add my voice to our election conversation. The Village Board takes a thoughtful, reasonable, practical approach to its work, and this approach has served the Village well for many years. There are several qualified candidates running for Village Trustee, but based on my meetings with each candidate, I believe that these independent candidates will be most committed to continuing this common sense approach on the Village Board. In addition, as detailed below, they are also the candidates who have the most relevant experience serving in Wilmette local government and community roles.
